HIS REDEEMING LOVE
I was REJECTED and betrayed;
Constantly beaten and spat on with contempt;
None saw any good in me, including myself;
None helped me, none cared;
Where was God in all these?
Doesn’t He care?

I was RESIGNED to relying on no one but myself;
I had learned that I was the only one who couldn’t disappoint me;
These supposed to love and care had left me;
Everywhere I turned for help turned to be a deep pit;
Where was God in all these?
Doesn’t He care?

But Oh, how faithful is my God!
For He RESCUED me!
Oh, His sweet redeeming love;
He was near, oh, always near;
He washed and cleansed me, He taught me love afresh;
He loved and allured me by the quiet waters.

My God, My Savior, Lover of my soul;
How He has REDEEMED me!
Did I even deserve it?
I thought I was beyond grace, never occurred to me that God cares;
But how He’s proved faithful;
Oh how He’s loved me, my redeemer is He!

I have been RECONCILED with my maker;
Through many darker paths I had been lost;
Away from my Savior had I been for so long;
But oh, the Lover of my soul sought me;
Oh how he bled and panted for me;
Bought me with a price, allured me with His love,
And He reconciled me to himself.

He has RESTORED my wasted years;
My God has restored my days in darkness;
In His kindness He has called me to His eternal Glory;
Jesus Christ, my Savior, My true Friend;
His Redeeming Love is better than the charms of the world;
His kind loving words are better than gold;
Oh, He has restored my soul, My Redeemer is He!
